As the coldest weeks of winter are fast approaching, we took it upon ourselves to share with our fave people a warm twist on your daily glass of red. We encourage you to get your inner mixologist on and add your favorite spices and fruit to this concoction - this one is definitely for the gram! (or for a night crashed on the couch with a pizza, we totally get it).

Let's get mixin'!

MULLED WINE

You will need:

  • 1 bottle of our Expressions Merlot Malbec

  • 1 orange, sliced into rounds (save a couple rounds for garnish)

  • 6 whole cloves

  • 3 cinnamon sticks, plus more for garnish

  • 3 star anise

  • 1/4 of The Hunting Lodge Honey or sweetener of choice

  • Orange juice to taste (we added 300mls)

Directions:

Step 1: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine all the ingredients. Bring to a simmer not a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer gently over low heat for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Serve warm in a heatproof glass and garnish with more citrus slices and cinnamon sticks.

Step 3: Enjoy!

Did you know?

  • Cinnamon has been shown to have a powerful anti-inflammatory effect, reducing swelling and restoring normal tissue function.

  • Cloves are thought to increase gut motility, as well as improving digestion.

Show us how you like your mulled wine, we love seeing your creations!
